Forged Hand Plane
This plane is based on a 16th century hand plane in the collection of the MAK museum in Vienna with some updates of my own. Like the original, the plane was forged in two parts and silver brazed together. I moved from a double wedge to a single wedge as I could not find an advantage in having a double wedge. Additionally, I raised the bed angle from 32 degrees to 40 degrees to allow for more clearance on the blade angle.
